The works curated for this art exhibit were deliberately chosen to protest against the western-centric art system that systematically privileges academically trained white male artists and excludes artists of color, LGBTQIA artists, female artists, artists not taught by a traditional Western academy, and artisans. The exhibit intentionally features pieces from female, black, and indigenous artists that range from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds from many countries to explore ethical curatorial practices that privilege transnationalism in museums.
